I Can't Stand Still

I originally started my career in accounting. I took the first job that offered me a wage and training in a professional qualification. I automated that job in six months and effectively made myself redundant.

Accounting taught me many skills, but what I learnt about myself was that I simply can’t keep doing the same thing the same way, month after month. I am someone who needs to keep innovating, raising the benchmark and setting new personal goals.

Moving into projects gave me the variety I needed and an outlet for my creativity. However, over time, I had been on the receiving end of so many badly planned restructuring and process changes that I chose to do something about it, becoming qualified in change management in 2003.
